HELP NEEDED FOR JORY

Jory was found wandering through a flooded area in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was taken to animal control in KC and then we rescued him from there.  Jory was sick and in terrible condition when we rescued him.  He rested and got much better.  However, we noticed that Jory’s cough was not getting any better so our vet did x-rays.  Unfortunately, we found out that Jory has lung cancer.  It is inoperable and he is not a candidate for canine chemotherapy.  Since his diagnosis, we are looking for a family to make Jory comfortable and feel at home.  He is such a sweet little boy and needs someone to take care of him now.  Jory is active and he loves to go for walks and be involved with his family.  Please let us know if you are interested in adopting Jory or fostering him.  We will help with his medical fees.  We don’t want Jory to spend his days in a “boarding facility,” so we’re hoping someone will speak up for him.  This will be a long-term foster commitment (or adoption).  We don’t want to be moving Jory from foster home to foster home, so we hope to find a family who will commit to helping Jory.  He is such a Joy to be around, too.  He is about 7 to 8 years old, 15 pounds, and up to date on shots as well as neutered, microchipped, and housebroken.  Thank you very much for your consideration.  Should you need any further information, please call 314-647-1112 or Email info@eskierescuestl.org

URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER HOMES

Eskie Rescue is in need of foster homes. This Eskie is located in Arkansas at a high kill shelter. In order for us to rescue/save him, we need a foster home. If you are able to foster him, please call 314-647-1112 as soon as possible or Email info@eskierescuestl.org – he is supposed to be a very nice dog. There are others needing to get into the program but we need foster homes to put them in. Please consider this urgent request – American Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis pays all medical bills and will furnish food. Please help! Thank you.

Shadow
SWMAE (Single White Male American Eskimo)
seeking LFH (Loving Forever Home)

Hi, I’m Shadow, and I am interested in:
A forever home with lots of love. I came from a home where I lived in squander. My foster home has two other dogs that I get along with famously, a lizzard, a hamster, lots of teenage boys in and out of the house all day long and I just love them all!
Favorite activities: running outside, catching toys, sitting on your lap, and getting pet.
Likes: sitting on the couch watching TV by your side, going out for walks, making sure you are always happy.
Dislikes: thunder and lightning (but if you just sit with me for a few, I am fine)
Special talents: I am potty trained and kennel trained.

Call me, adopt me, and I’ll be your best friend forever!

Eskie Spotlight

Charlie – (1.5 years old)

Charlie is a sweetheart and a young American Eskimo!  When Charlie was a puppy, he was tied to a tree and didn’t have much contact with his humans.  Then he was fostered by a family in the neighborhood who really tried to help him but was very busy.  At that time, Charlie was not given the training he needed.  We all love Charlie very much.  He is very smart, affectionate, and willing to learn. Charlie even knows obedience training. He really wants to please his owners. He can be fearful of strangers when they try to pick him up or pet him without Charlie knowing what is going on. We need a family who will continue to work with him -- we will provide further training for Charlie and his new family.  If the family understands that Charlie will need a little special care, he will make a great family member. Let’s give Charlie the chance he needs – you won’t be disappointed. Charlie would do best with another dog in the family and humans who can give him the attention he needs.

Foster Homes are Desperately Needed!

Would you like to help us save the Eskies? If we don’t have foster homes, we cannot take them into the program. If there is an Eskie in a shelter or at animal control, we need to pull that Reskie from the shelter or animal control right away to save their lives. But without foster homes we cannot save them. Due to overcrowding, shelters need our help and we need yours. Please consider fostering an Eskie. Time runs out on these homeless dogs stuck in a shelter (for whatever reason), so please help us today. If you can foster, please Email info@eskierescuestl.org or call 314-647-1112. A foster home application is here. For more information on fostering, please read how your efforts can help .You will be saving an Eskie’s life.

Pilots N Paws to the Rescue Again!

American Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis rescued two American Eskimo/Samoyed dogs from Columbia, Kentucky, on Friday, February 26, 2010. The dogs, Bert and Willy, were to be put to sleep at a high kill shelter. Bert and Willie were turned into the kill shelter by their owners who could not keep them any longer.  Bert and Willy are brothers and are two years old. They were to be put to sleep on Wednesday, February 23, until the rescue volunteers in Kentucky acted quickly and contacted American Eskimo Rescue to see if they could rescue them. The volunteers in Kentucky saved the dogs from destruction. Thank you to PILOTS N PAWS www.pilotsnpaws.org for flying the dogs directly to St. Louis. Pilots N Paws is a not-for-profit group of pilots that transport animals in life-threatening situations.  This is volunteer work by pilots who devote their time and own funds to help these animals. Ground transports are tough to do and thanks to the pilots from Pilots N Paws (Gene and Scott) Bert and Willy were here in a day. If you would like to make a donation to Pilots N Paws, please visit the website at www.pilotsnpaws.org – donations can also be sent to American Eskimo Rescue for the care of Bert and Willie. Sponsorships are always needed. Thank you very much. For more information, call 314-647-1112. Enjoy the photos from this wonderful rescue.

SPECIAL NOTE: Foster homes are needed for Bert and Willie.
